He then spent some time in his home town of Birmingham working in fringe theatre, playing Rock in Mike Leigh's Smelling A Rat, The Doctor and Murderer in Macbeth and Eduardo in Ben Elton's Silly Cow.

Jon's first UK tour was with Bill Kenwright Ltd. in The Blues Brothers Meet The Soul Sisters as Earl Blues. In 2001 he made his West End debut at the Queen's Theatre in the world premiere of All You Need Is Love!, a magical journey through the songs of Lennon and McCartney.

For two years Jon then toured the UK and Europe in The Rocky Horror Show, playing both Brad Majors and Frank N Furter, during which time he performed over 600 times in more than nine countries. He was invited back to appear as a special guest Frank N Furter in a one-off open air concert in Hanover. Rocky Horror: Time To Say Goodbye celebrated the ten-year success of the touring show on the continent.

During 2004 Jon worked abroad again, playing both Kenickie in Grease (Municipal Amphitheatre Larnaca, Cyprus) and Judas in a touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar (Denmark/Sweden). For most of 2005, Jon was on tour in the UK rediscovering his role of Judas in Bill Kenwright's touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar, for which he received great critical acclaim. At the end of the year Jon returned to London to perform as several 'rock icons' in The Next Big Thing, a new musical comedy from the writers of Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. After this, Jon toured as a principal vocalist in a new production of What A Feeling! with Sinitta, Noel Sullivan and Pop Idol's Zoe Birkett.

Jon has just completed two years on the hit West End show We Will Rock You, where he was the alternate Galileo Figaro and also understudied Khashoggi and Britney Spears.
